Getting The Focus Back….

I am sitting here in front of my laptop and typing this and sipping my hot cup of coffee. It has been an interesting couple of months at my end. I had lots of things on my plate…March was a stressful month.

Up until March 2008, my plan was to start atleast one new affiliate site every two months. It seemed like the right goal to set to grow my business. I had convinced myself that I needed to do this to take me the next level. March was a stressful but an eventful month because it finally hit me - “whilst this goal sounds good it is not reasonable”. Not reasonable because -

its a lot of work to create and promote a new site every two months
currently I have a blog and two websites which need to be taken to the next level - The two web sites have proved to me in the past few months that they have the potential to contribute heaps more to my income.

Cuppa Time

This blog is not there yet but I am quite passionate and enjoying writing for this blog - I know its in a good market and so I have a good feeling about it. The blog might not be earning much at the moment but am sure that if I put in more effort in writing for it, it will prove to be worthwhile.

if I get distracted and keep creating new sites then it will take my focus away from my three main sites. Then everything will be a complete mess…I will end up with many sites but none earning to its full potential

And so to ponder more on these thoughts, I took a week off - Time away from work is always good for reflection…I came back to work a week later, fully rejuvenated…I had made my decision…I felt really happy and motivated about the decision I had made - My goal for 2008 and first half of 2009 is to concentrate on my two websites and this blog. I need to get these to the stage where they can contribute more to my monthly income. I still feel affiliate sites are good - but not yet for me. I need to focus all my effort on my three sites and then when they are at a good level, I will reconsider my affiliate sites. I already have 2 adsense sites and a couple of ebooks…When I find some time in between working my main sites, I will spend some time promoting the adsense and ebooks.

Once the decision was made, I sat down and drew up a plan - a plan about where I want the three websites to be by the end of the year. I quite enjoyed the process. Once I did this, I felt light and the stress vanished…I had my focus back. I still had lots to do but atleast this time the focus is there.
